Sign up for the Site Enablement League Benchmarking Working Group.

Site selection is one of the most critical components of clinical trial success. And yet sponsors and CROs often rely on fragmented, inconsistent, outdated or anecdotal data about site capabilities and site performance to inform site identification, while sites typically have no visibility into the data sponsors and CROs are using. After site selection, clinical trial sites are responsible for speed and quality of enrollment and data collection, and yet there is no consistent or standardized way to measure and compare site performance across the industry. And again, sites typically have no visibility into the performance metrics sponsors and CROs are capturing, or how their performance compares to peers. The industry as a whole lacks the transparency needed to optimize clinical trial operations.

The Clinical Trial Site Benchmarking Working Group will include sponsor, CRO, and site members, and will identify the current process and key challenges such as data availability, standardization, benchmarking methodology and adoption. They will propose reporting frameworks that enable sites to measure and improve performance, support sponsor selection decisions, and foster operational transparency. The goal is to provide the industry with a roadmap to move from fragmented measurement toward consistent, meaningful, and actionable performance benchmarking.
